Year of Version 2015 Dates Entry into force: January 1, 1992 Adopted: November 5, 1991 Type of Text IP-related Laws Subject Matter Undisclosed Information (Trade Secrets), Copyright and Related Rights (Neighboring Rights), Other, Industrial Property Notes The Commercial Code contains fundamental provisions on entrepreneurs, Czech-owned and foreign-owned businesses and the formation and structure of companies, partnerships and co-operatives. General commercial partnerships (unlimited partnerships), limited partnerships, limited liability companies, joint stock companies and co-operatives are all considered to be legal entities if formed and incorporated under Czech law. The Code also includes detailed provisions on various types of contracts. Contracts which are not regulated by the Commercial Code are subject to the provisions of the Civil Code (See Preface). IP-related issues: See Arts. 17-20 (Undisclosed Information), Arts. 44-54 (Unfair Competition), Arts. 508-515 (Licencing Agreements of Industrial Property).
