Year of Version 2006 Dates Amended: February 23, 2006 Commenced: August 6, 2001 Type of Text Main IP Laws Subject Matter Patents (Inventions) Notes This consolidated version of the Patents Act, Chapter 314, also known as "Act 2001-18" takes into account amendments introduced by Act 2006-2, which entered into force on February 23, 2006. The Act also establishes the term of protection available in accordance with the TRIPS Agreement and the procedure to be followed to facilitate the examination, grant and registration of patent rights in Barbados. The Act repeals the 1981 Act, but saves pending applications and patents registered thereunder.
