Year of Version 2017 Dates Entry into force: January 1, 2017 Issued: September 2, 2015 Type of Text Implementing Rules/Regulations   Subject Matter Trademarks, Geographical Indications Subject Matter (secondary) Enforcement of IP and Related Laws, IP Regulatory Body Notes This Ordinance implements the following provisions:
- Article 50a of the Federal Act of August 28, 1992, on the Protection of Trademarks and Indications of Source, relating to Register for geographical indications;
- Article 13 of the Federal Act of March 24, 1995, on the Statute and Tasks of the Federal Institute for Intellectual Property, relating to fees of the Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IPI).

The notification by Switzerland to the WTO under Article 63.2 of TRIPS states that:
'Definition of PAO and PGI, applicant requirements, contents of registration application, registration procedure, cancellation procedure, fees, scope of protection, control and certification.'
