Year of Version 2021 Dates Status as of: March 27, 2021 Amended up to: October 31, 1994 Entry into force: January 1, 1908 Enacted: August 28, 1907 Type of Text Main IP Laws Subject Matter Patents (Inventions) Notes This consolidated version of the Patents and Designs Act 1907 (Chapter 29) , which was updated on March 27, 2021, includes all amendments made by the Trade Marks Act 1994, the Patents Act 1949, the Registered Designs Act 1949, the National Heritage Act 1983, the Patents Act 1977, the Patents, Designs and Marks Act 1986, the Statute Law (Repeals) Act 1986. The latest amendments introduced by the Trade Marks Act 1994 to this consolidated version of the Patents and Designs Act 1907 entered into force on October 31, 1994 (see sections 62, 63 and 99 under Part III of the said consolidated version). Most of the sections of the Patents and Designs Act 1907 have been repealed. The sections that remain in force are as follows: Section 62- Patent Office (as amended by the Trade Marks Act 1994); Section 63- Officers and clerks (as amended by the Trade Marks Act 1994 and the Civil Service Order 1968 (S.I. 1968/1656)); Section 64-Seal of Patent Office.
