Year of Version 1994 Dates Entry into force: February 1, 1994 Adopted: June 23, 1993 Type of Text IP-related Laws Subject Matter Industrial Designs, Trademarks, Trade Names, Enforcement of IP and Related Laws Notes The Tobacco Products Control Act 1993 was amended in 1993, 1999, 2007 and 2008. The Act provides, inter alia, for the regulation of the sale and advertising of tobacco products and sets out the requirements for plain packaging and the appearance of tobacco products, the presentation of brand names and trademarks on tobacco products and packaging. It also prohibits false or misleading labeling and packaging for tobacco products (Sections 3(6), (7) & Section 6(v)).
