The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to notify the receipt on January 20, 2025, of a communication from the Government of the Portuguese Republic regarding changes in both the staff and the schedule of fees for the University of Coimbra Bacteria Culture Collection (UCCCB), an International Depository Authority (IDA) under the Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure (Budapest Treaty), done at Budapest on April 28, 1977, and amended on September 26, 1980 (see Budapest Notification No. 362 of April 25, 2024).
According to Rule 12.2(c) of the Regulations under the Budapest Treaty, the new fees set forth in the communication shall take effect on March 26, 2025, that is, on the thirtieth day following the publication of the changes by the International Bureau of WIPO.
The new fees schedule is indicated in the Attachment.

The human resource's structure is made up of doctorates and masters with scientific and technical competence in the UCCCB's fields of activity. The team was recruited specifically for its experience in biotechnology and classical and molecular microbiology and includes collaborators with a track record and scientific reputation in research in the areas of microbiology, microbial taxonomy, genetic engineering and biotechnological production. The teams publish in scientific journals.
