WIPO has released the Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISCs) Annual Report 2024, highlighting major developments, milestones, and new resources that supported the continued growth of the Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISCs) network.
TISCs support researchers, inventors, and entrepreneurs to unlock their innovative potential and protect, manage and create value from intellectual property by offering services ranging from patent search to IP analytics to services related to technology transfer, IP management and commercialization. Located in patent offices, universities and research institutions, they are central to local innovation ecosystems.

Highlights of the 2024 TISCs Annual Report include:

Continued expansion of the global TISC network, with 1,667 TISCs now present in 93 countries, providing an increasingly wide range of IP and innovation support services.

Growing contribution by TISCs to IP filing, licensing, and commercialization around the world, with TISCs responding to over 2.25 million inquiries from local innovators.

Launch of WIPO’s new competency-based TISC Staff Certification Program to build professional skills and standardize service quality.
- Roll-out of a range of new resources and platforms, including the Toolkit on New Product Development and Inventions in the Public Domain, comprising 15 practical tools to support inventors on their new product development journey, the enhanced Institutional IP Policies Database and the TISC Project and Performance Management Platform (TPPM).
