The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) organized the Sharing Best Practices (SBP) Workshop on Digital Customer Services and ASEAN IP Register National Workshop in Manila, Philippines, in cooperation with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL), with support from Funds-In-Trust Japan Industrial Property Global (FIT/Japan IP Global).

IP Register National Workshop were held in Manila, Philippines, from December 9 to 12,
2024.
SBP Workshop (December 9–11, 2024)
Held from December 9 to 11, 2024, the SBP Workshop focused on common challenges in
IP office business operations, the provision of digital services and the exchange of solutions
among the IP offices of Cambodia, Lao PDR, the Philippines, and Vietnam. It also covered
management perspectives related to digital service delivery.
The workshop welcomed 19 officials in person from the IP Offices of Cambodia, Lao PDR,
and Vietnam. This event provided a unique platform for knowledge exchange, enabling direct engagement with peers and practical insights into recent developments in digital customer services as well as the use of IPAS and WIPO business systems. The participants shared their best practices and challenges, and actively engaged in the discussions.
ASEAN IP Register National Workshop (December 12, 2024)
ASEAN IP Register National Workshop took place on December 12, 2024, attracting 80 participants from various sectors. Attendees included IPOPHL officials, including those from satellite offices, IP professionals from the private sector, representatives from universities, government officials from the Department of Science and Technology, and officials from Cambodia, Lao PDR, and Vietnam, who also participated in the SBP Workshop.
The workshop showcased the ASEAN IP Register’s functionalities, demonstrating its
relevance to the IP system in the Philippines, further promoting the use of the ASEAN IP Register.
