The talks centered around the important role of IP for jobs, businesses, investments and economic vibrancy, not just for the US but other countries as well.

Mr. Tang also attended this year’s induction ceremony to the National Inventors Hall of Fame. He introduced Ms. Pam Marrone, whose groundbreaking work in biopesticides has revolutionized the field and whose success as an entrepreneur has inspired many others to bring innovation and business together for impact.  Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick graced the event with a special address.

Mr. Tang also met with many colleagues at this event, including Acting Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Coke Morgan Stewart.

Mr. Tang also met with Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau to discuss the importance of IP as a source of economic empowerment, a driver of innovation and a catalyst for jobs, investments and economic success.

Mr. Tang also called on Senator Thom Tillis, and Congressmen Darrell Issa and Ben Cline. During these meetings, the focus was on the latest domestic IP legislative and policy developments.

Other highlights of the visit included signing a memorandum of understanding with the CEO of the US Chamber of Commerce Suzanne Clark to work together on a range of IP issues, as well as a visit to the National IP Rights Coordination Center to continue discussions on how to address IP piracy.
