Vienna Agreement Establishing an International Classification of the Figurative Elements of Marks

Accession by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to notify the deposit by the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on September 3, 2020, of its instrument of accession to the Vienna Agreement Establishing an International Classification of the Figurative Elements of Marks, done at Vienna on June 12, 1973, as amended on October 1, 1985 ("Vienna Agreement").

The said instrument of accession contained the following declaration:

- In accordance with Article 16(2) of the Vienna Agreement, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia does not consider itself bound by the provisions of paragraph (1) of Article 16 relating to the settlement of any dispute before the International Court of Justice.

The said Agreement will enter into force, with respect to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on December 3, 2020.
