Madrid Agreement for the Repression of False or Deceptive Indications of Source on Goods

Accession by Spain to the Lisbon Act

The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to notify him that the Government of Spain, referring to Article 6(2) of the above mentioned Act, deposited, on May 8, 1973, its instrument of accession dated April 3, 1973, to the Madrid Agreement for the Repression of False or Deceptive Indications of Source on Goods of April 14, 1891, as revised at Lisbon on October 31, 1958.

This instrument of accession has been deposited with the Director General of WIPO in accordance with the provisions of Article 1 of the Additional Act of Stockholm of July 14, 1967, of the said Agreement, which is now in force.

Pursuant to the provisions of Article 20(2)(c) of the Stockholm Act of the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property, to which, in so far as concerns Article 6(2) of the Lisbon Act of the said Agreement, reference is made by Article 2 of the Additional Act of Stockholm, the said Agreement will enter into force, with respect to Spain, three months after the date of this notification, that is, on August 14, 1973.
