Convention establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization
Accession of the State of Qatar
The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and, in accordance with the provisions of the Convention Establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization, has the honor to notify him that the Government of the State of Qatar deposited, on June 3, 1976, its instrument of accession to the said Convention.
The State of Qatar, which is a member of the United Nations, has fulfilled the condition set forth in Article 5(2)(i) of the said Convention.
Pursuant to Article 11(4)(b) of the said Convention, the State of Qatar has expressed the wish to belong to Class B.
Pursuant to Article 15(2), the Convention Establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization will enter into force, in respect to the State of Qatar, three months after the date of deposit of the instrument of accession, that is, on September 3, 1976.
