Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure and other WIPO-administered treaties
Declarations by the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to notify the deposit by the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, on January 1, 2021, of the following declarations:
- the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland declares that the United Kingdom's ratification of the Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure (Budapest Treaty) (see Budapest Notification No. 9), shall be extended to the territories of the Bailiwick of Guernsey, the Isle of Man and Gibraltar, for the international relations of which the United Kingdom is responsible;
- the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland declares that the United Kingdom's ratification of the Singapore Treaty on the Law of Trademarks (Singapore Treaty) (see Singapore Notification No. 29), shall be extended to the territory of the Isle of Man, for the international relations of which the United Kingdom is responsible;
- the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland declares that the United Kingdom's ratification of the Trademark Law Treaty (TLT) (see TLT Notification No. 6), shall be extended to the territory of Gibraltar, for the international relations of which the United Kingdom is responsible;
- the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland declares that the United Kingdom's ratification of the WIPO Copyright Treaty (WCT) (see WCT Notification No. 76), shall be extended to the territories of the Bailiwick of Guernsey and the Isle of Man, for the international relations of which the United Kingdom is responsible; and
- the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland declares that the United Kingdom's ratification of the WIPO Performances of Phonograms Treaty (WPPT) (see WPPT Notification No. 78), shall be extended to the territories of the Bailiwick of Guernsey and the Isle of Man, for the international relations of which the United Kingdom is responsible.
At the request of the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the said declarations shall enter into force, with respect to the territories stipulated in the respective declarations, on January 1, 2021.
