Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure

Ratification by the Federal Republic of Germany

The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to notify him of the deposit by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, on October 20, 1980, of its instrument of ratification of the Budapest Treaty on the International Recognition of the Deposit of Microorganisms for the Purposes of Patent Procedure, done at Budapest on April 28, 1977.

The said instrument was accompanied by the following declaration: "the said Treaty shall also apply to Berlin (West) with effect from the date on which it enters into force for the Federal Republic of Germany".

The said Treaty will enter into force, with respect to the Federal Republic of Germany, three months after the date on which it deposited its instrument of ratification, that is, on January 20, 1981.
