On the 22nd November 2012 PCT ICD received a letter from the National Intellectual Property Center of the Republic of Georgia (Sakpatenti) inviting WIPO to organize
a PCT promotion seminar and to hold a training session on PCT for Sakpatenti staff.
This is the first time in recent years when we have a good chance to establish real activity within the framework of the PCT in the Republic of Georgia. The Republic of Georgia became
a PCT Contracting State in 1991. Only 5-7 international applications are filed per year before Sakpatenti in its capacity as the PCT Receiving Office. At the same time number of national patent applications is about 400 per year. Georgia is not a party to any regional patent convention. |
