UN Conference on Space Law and Policy |

The UN Conference on Space Law and Polic is an annual conference organized by the UN Office for Outer Space Affaires(UNOOSA) in Vienna. WIPO is invited to provide a presentation on the interplay between space law and IP law as well as the role of IP law in promoting innovation in and access to space technologies. It is also requested to participate in the UN Panel where participants will have dialogues with the representatives of relevant UN agencies. WIPO’s participation would:
(i) better inform the policy makers and other stakeholders in the field of space law about intellectual property law and the role of IP, against the backdrop of emerging market-driven actors and increasing number of countries more active in this area;
(ii) strengthen the relationship with the UNOOSA, which has a coordination role in the outer space issues in the UN family. |
