The International Symposium aims to provide China with a platform to share its
experiences in intellectual property (IP) protection of traditional cultural expressions
(TCEs), enable all participants to exchange regional, national, and local practices,
facilitate the sharing of experiences and case studies on IP and TCEs to support
economic growth and sustainable development, and foster discussions on international
IP protection of TCEs, serving as an informative supplement to the text-based
negotiations of the Intergovernmental Committee (IGC) with a strong emphasis on
evidence-based approaches.
In light of the above, to facilitate China's involvement in negotiations regarding the
proposed international treaty on the protection of traditional cultural expressions and to
promote China's experiences and best practices in IP protection of TCEs. |
