In April 2011 WIPO launched a study on the economic contribution of the copyright-based industries in Albania, as per the request of the Albanian Copyright Office (ACO). A feasibility assessment was made in March, confirming the availability of the required body of statistical information to carry out the study. A Special Service Agreement was signed with Prof. Ekonomi, Tirana, the candidate chosen following interviews and upon recommendation of ACO (copy attached). Prof. Jules Theeuwes, Amsterdam Economics was appointed as an international consultant to the study.
