The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has been invited to take part in the annual Africa Committee meeting (CAF) of the International Confederation of Authors Rights Societies (CISAC) which will take place in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire from July 23 to 26, 2018.
WIPO is invited to speak on its technical assistance approach in the area of copyright and collective management. In addition, WIPO has been requested to co-organize with CISAC a one-day session on Digital licensing in the audiovisual and broadcasting sectors for the general managers of Copyright collective management organizations (CMOs) of the African continent. This will take place on July 23, 2018. Our participation at the CAF will provide an opportunity to address treaty implementation in the African region in particular as regards the Beijing audiovisual treaty. |
