At its Seventh Session (July 1 to 5, 2019, Geneva, Salle A, WIPO), the Committee on WIPO Standards (CWS) will continue its work to develop and revise WIPO Standards. The Committee will update related matters in the field of IP information and documentation, and review progress reports and proposals submitted by 12 CWS Task Forces. These include the outcomes of two workshops on blockchain for IP and name standardization, and the revision of sequence listing standard (ST.26), patent legal status data (ST.27), patent authoirty files (ST.37) and trademark bibliographic data (ST.60). The CWS will also discuss a new WIPO standard on Web API and new XML components for geographicals indications and copyright orphan works. The IB will demonstrate the new WIPO Sequence tool which will be released to applicants and IP offices around the globe this year. |
