1. Botswana
IPOBSD has added several new products to the suite of services recently, including EDMS, WIPO File and WIPO Publish. Deploying all these products will significantly enhance the service delivery of IP offices, but requires commitment and assignment of resources. To accelerate the process in Africa, it is proposed to work with the IP office of Botswana to set up a “model office” where all WIPO products are deployed in an office which can absorb the knowledge and provide the necessary resources.
2. ARIPO and ZIPO
ARIPO has made several requests for support for the KOICA/ARIPO project, for digitization and for establishment of regional IP databases. At the last ARIPO council meeting, the organisation received the support of its member states to create a regional IP database of member states’ and regional IP rights. |
