The twenty-sixth session of the Standing Committee on the Law of Patents (SCP) has been tentatively scheduled to be held in Geneva from June 27 to 30, 2017 (C. N 3721), in order to continue its work on various issues relating to patent law and the international patent system.
Taking into account that the Eid al-Fitr (IC No. 32/2016) is tentatively scheduled to take place on June 26, 2017, and to avoid any inconveniency in the organization of the SCP during that week, it is proposed that the twenty-sixth session takes place from July 3 to 6, 2017.
Please find attached, for your consideration and approval, the following documents:
- the draft agenda of the meeting (document SCP/26/1 Prov.);
- a cost estimate of expenditures for the SCP meeting; and
- draft general circular letters of invitation to the twenty-sixth session of the SCP.
The total approximate cost of the twenty-sixth session of the SCP is contained in the annex. The sum will be charged against Programs 0001.P1001 and 0011.P3378 for lunch hospitality.
Please also note that letters of invitation to financed countries will be submitted for your approval upon receipt of the selected countries from the Bureaus.
