It is recalled that the twenty-sixth session of the Standing Committee on the Law of Patents (SCP), held in Geneva from July 3 to 6, 2017, was concluded successfully with the adoption of its future work. During the closing session, many delegations expressed their appreciation for the constructive atmosphere of the Committee. In accordance with the agreed future work (see paragraph 19, of the Summary by the Chair attached ), the agenda of the twenty-seventh session of the SCP shall contain a number of sharing sessions and information exchange sessions as well as discussions on five new documents to be prepared by the Secretariat.
In light of the above, as informally discussed, it is proposed that the twenty-seventh session takes place from December 11 to 15, 2017. In this regard, consultations with Regional Coordinators are taking place in parallel. Thus, if the five-day meeting is acceptable to the different groups, the current circular letters of invitation will be sent. Otherwise, a new set will be submitted for your signature. |
