Mr. Mailander and Ms. Ramli will conduct consultations with WIPO MyIPO on November 27, 2017, regarding the ASPEC examiner training project IPET.
Reference is made to the memo of Mach 31, 2017, regarding Competency based and Individualized Patent Examiner Training and Learning Management (copy attached).
The primary objective of the workshop is to seek collaboration of interested Offices for developing an enhanced competency framework for patent examiners based on the concept described in the document PCT/WG/10/9 `Coordination of patent examiner training`.
The workshop will further address the needs for a learning management system for applying the competency framework in planning and tracking participation in learning activities and assessing the successful learning.
Surveys on patent examiner training conducted for the PCT Working Group have revealed that available e-learning resources have not yet been fully exploited for the training of examiners. The workshop therefore seeks as well to promote existing resources, analyze their utility and explore needs for amending or developing further such resources with a view to integrate such recourse in training curricula. |
