The Work Plan of FIT/ROK Copyright 2017-2018 envisages the organization of a
Sub-Regional Workshop on Copyright and Related Rights in the first half of 2018.
The objective of the Sub-Regional Workshop is to share information and experience among neighboring countries (China, Mongolia, Republic of Korea, Russian Federation) in the northeast Asia region regarding the development of copyright system and seek further opportunities to enhance cooperation among those countries in the area of copyright and related rights.
Since these four countries are not member of any regional associations like ASEAN or EU, this workshop functions as a reliable platform for the four countries to cooperate in the area of copyright and related rights under the umbrella of WIPO. The countries are geographically located nearby and they have high volume of content exchange and, therefore, issues on copyright and related rights are raised frequently. The importance of cooperation in the copyright and related rights among these four countries has never put on emphasis before. |
