A Practical Training on receiving Offices procedures addressed to Central American and Caribbean countries was organized in May 2015, mainly due to the fact that these offices have repeatedly expressed the need of having up-to-date guidance on how to deal with the procedures of receiving and transmitting international applications. Some of these countries have also faced important changes in their staff. It took place in the Headquarters of the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI), from May 19 to 21, 2015, in Mexico City, with the participation of staff from the national Offices from the following countries: Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama and Nicaragua (8).
Given the successful outcome of this first training, it is consequently proposed to organize a similar event for South American countries, at the Headquarters of the Chilean National Institute of Industrial Property (INAPI), from December 9 to 11, 2015. |
