By letter dated May 29, 2015, MARQUES (the European Association of Trademark Owners) has invited WIPO to participate in its Annual Conference in Vienna, September 15 to 18, and to make presentations under one program item dedicated to WIPO (September 16) and for a Workshop on trademarks and geographical indications (September 17) (see attached letter).
Bearing in mind the specificities of the request, namely to address developments in the legal framework of the Madrid System, latest news of the Hague System and significant emerging issues in geographical indications, I would like to suggest the nomination of Ms. Marie-Paule Rizo as the WIPO representative. Ms. Rizo will cover developments in geographical indications and the SCT and will participate in the proposed workshop on trademarks and geographical indications. |
