Título: International Conference on the Protection of Geographical Indications
Descripción: In his letter of June 6, 2013 (Ref. No. 01-07/026) (copy attached), Mr. Irakli Ghvaladze, Chairman, National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia (Sakpatenti), requested WIPO to organize, in cooperation with Sakpatenti, an International Conference on the Protection of Geographical Indications, in Tbilisi, from October 3 to 4, 2013. The objective of the Conference would be to emphasize the importance of intellectual property in economic development, highlight the competitive advantage of the products protected via Geographical Indications (GIs) and exchange experience in the field of legal protection of GIs and Appellations of Origin (AOs).
