the Government of Tanzania wishes to make headway with the proposed action plan, but wishes first to review and update its content in light of new developments, such as the recently concluded study on the economic contribution of creative industries to Tanzania and the realization that, Zanzibar, which is a part of the United Republic of Tanzania but has an independent national IP regime, is missing almost entirely from the national IP Strategy roadmap.
Peer review the IP Strategy roadmap based on best practice in relation to certain strategic areas in the nation’s economy, taking into account the regional dimensions that would impact the implementation of the IP Strategy at the national level, such as within the context of the East African Community’s Common Market and Tanzania’s membership to certain Regional Economic Communities (RECs) whose programs/policies might have a bearing on the IP Strategy implementation;
