This mission proposal follows the signing on September 12, 2012 of the Memorandum of Understanding between WIPO and INPI Brazil concerning the provision of mediation services involving certain cases submitted to INPI Brazil. INPI Brazil has requested WIPO’s support for the organization of a training program on Mediation of Trademark Disputes before INPI Brazil aimed at trademark practitioners (November 27-28, 2012) and an implementation meeting with INPI Brazil and its Center for Intellectual Property Protection (CEDPI) (November 29, 2012).
The WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center and ASIPI have agreed to collaborate with a view to promoting the use of the WIPO Mediation and Expedited Arbitration Rules for Film and Media. The WIPO Center is organizing a workshop on arbitration for film and media at the ASIPI Annual Conference in Uruguay on December 1, 2012. |
