The project aims to bring together all stakeholders in the audiovisual industry, to discuss and agree on areas of assessing the prevailing and perceivable challenges that indigenous film industry is currently facing or might face in future, with a view to devising strategies to address them. It is deemed imperative that an enabling environment that provides the necessary incentives for the orderly development of this industry in the country be in place as soon as possible. WIPO’s assistance in this area will allow for a better common understanding of the audiovisual-film industry by all players and stakeholders, which is extremely essential to pave way for its professional growth.
The workshop will build on the Creative Industries’ publication Rights, Camera, Action! Intellectual Property Rights and the Film-making Process, From Script to Screen, and similar capacity-building activities organized by the Creative Industries Section in developing countries |
