Mr. Nurlan Abdrakhim, Chairman, Committee for Intellectual Property Rights (CIPR) of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan requested WIPO’s support in organizing a Training Seminar on the Madrid System for the International Registration of Marks, to be held in Astana, in July 2012.
Following the subsequent discussion with CIPR, a half-day workshop for trademark examiners was additionally requested by the Office.
Since the objectives of the events correspond to the strategic goals of the Brands and Designs Sector to encourage better use of the Madrid System and, especially, of the Madrid Protocol, to which Kazakhstan acceded in December 2010, we would like to propose that two events be organized as requested by CIPR.
