The objectives of the Workshop on Geographical Indications in Malaysia are to: (i) increase awareness on the role of GIs in creating and generating wealth; (ii) enhance understanding of the concept of Geographical Indications (iii) provide information on the elements of various GIs regimes in selected countries and (iv) explain how GIs may coexist with other Intellectual Property Rigghts (IPRs). Participants will be Officials of the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO), government departments, academia and research institutions, as well as representations of relevant local and regional producers associations and the private sector |
