Mission to Launch the Creative Economy Data Model (CEDM) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia |
| Descripción: |
WIPO has developed the Creative Economy Data Model (CEDM), a policy tool designed to evaluate the creative capacity of national economies. The framework assesses the creative economy ecosystem of Member States through a set of indicators that support evidence-based policymaking. The CEDM is currently being implemented in several countries across different regions, with growing interest from additional countries seeking to apply the model with WIPO’s support.
The Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) has expressed interest in implementing the CEDM in Malaysia. Following current and planned applications in the Philippines, Thailand, and Viet Nam, expanding implementation to another ASEAN country would provide valuable intelligence for cooperation opportunities within the region. This initiative responds to requests from ASEAN to identify new indicators relevant to the creative economy and supports the objectives of the MoU between WIPO and ASEAN.
