WIPO has developed the Creative Economy Data Model (CEDM) as a new tool to measure the creative capacity of economies. This comprehensive model assesses the creative economy ecosystem of Member States and their regions by considering various factors to generate effective, data-driven policy recommendations.
The Government of Thailand has expressed its interest in the application of the CEDM in the
country and WIPO has responded positively to this request. In order to launch the project, it
has been decided with the Department of Intellectual Property of Thailand and the Creative Economy Agency of Thailand to organize a high-level forum on March 19 in Bangkok, which
will feature the participation of the Deputy Minister of Commerce. The purpose of the forum will be to highlight the importance of the creative industry and its comprehensive measurement to policy makers and key stakeholders.
