To provide an interactive forum to directly engage the senior management of national IP offices in the region (ASEAN, SAARC, Iran and Mongolia) in a continuing conversation to foster new leadership thinking that stresses mutual accountability, coherence of actions and sustainability of results from development cooperation with WIPO. Every HIPOC builds on the outcomes of the previous HIPOCs and strengthens the relationships between the heads of the offices and WIPO, while offering an executive level learning platform on specific areas of IP development. It has also become a forum to facilitate south-south cooperation, cross-fertilization of ideas and sharing of best practices among IP offices in the region. The theme of the present HIPOC focuses on how IP offices have transformed from a regulatory agency into an innovation enabler to respond to the needs of the government. |
