Título: Citizen Journalism and IP for Schools Project and cooperation with Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC)
Descripción: The approved 2017-18 workplan for the Building Respect for IP (BRIP) Division includes an item “Africa – BRIP Week for Schools: IP and Citizen Journalism”. It was originally proposed that this activity would be funded by the Japan Funds-in-Trust for Africa (the FIT) and would take place in Tanzania or South Africa over seven days. In the event, the application to the FIT was unsuccessful. It is therefore proposed to fund the activity from the general budget of Program 17. For reasons of convenience and cost, it is proposed to undertake the activity in South Africa and to reduce the length of the project to four days.
Mission Proposal
It is proposed that Ms. Benbachir should represent WIPO during the undertaking of the project to ensure its completion in accordance with WIPO’s requirements and to facilitate the cooperation of CIPC, the schools and the production team.
