The Patent Office of Austria is a donor for WIPO’s ICE service. It is in the process of setting up an IP Academy that includes training of patent examiners. The purpose of the mission is to present to the Academy the competency based examiner training project of WIPO, and to explore if parts of this project, in particular the competency framework, are of interest for the Academy.
In addition to that it is planned to explore possibilities to organize, in 2018, on the job training (OJT) of patent examiners at the Patent Office of Austria as part of the ICE cooperation. This OJT would be part of the IP Australia Funds in trust workplan 2017/18. It is also planned to explore if such OJT could become a regular yearly activity of the ICE cooperation as part of the IP Academy workplan.
It is proposed that Mr. Mailänder represent the organization for these consultations. |
