Reference is made to the attached letter dated April 21, 2014, in which Mr. Paulin Edou Edou, Director General of the African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI) requested WIPO’s support in organizing a Study Visit regarding Implementation of the Madrid System to the Moroccan Industrial and Commercial Office, in Casablanca.
Considering the importance of the accession of OAPI to the Madrid Protocol, we shall positively react to this request in order to ensure that OAPI staff will get first-hand experience of operating the Madrid System at office level.
It is therefore proposed that WIPO finance the above visit of four Government Officials from OAPI in Casablanca from July 15 to 18, 2014. The cost of the visit will be covered under unit code 0020 and activity code P1138.
