SADC Regional Colloquium on Buildilng Respect for IP for the Judiciary; Consultations with CIPC |

As approved in the Japan Funds-in-Trust (IP) 2014-2015 program for Africa and LDCs, a Regional Colloquium on Building Respect for IP for Members of the Judiciary of the Common Law Countries of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) is to be hosted in Pretoria by the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) on Oct. 29 & 30.
On Oct. 31, WIPO will consult with CIPC and other local stakeholders on the development of training materials on the investigation and prosecution of IP crime, with a view to finalizing the drafting of such tools by Dec. 2014.
This capacity-building activity relating to building respect for IP is targeting Members of the judiciary of common Law English-speaking countries of the SADC region. The participating judiciary would preferably be senior/experienced judges who could benefit from an IP-specific colloquium. |
