The Government of Sri Lanka, through the Director General of the National Intellectual Property Office (NIPO) - Mrs. Geethanjali Ranawaka - has confirmed its interest in piloting the training modules, and has expressed its commitment in organizing the workshop in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Training workshops will address five key areas of IP and film:
1. Securing IP rights in the making of a film (development);
2. Negotiating licenses and assignment of IP rights for domestic distribution;
3. Negotiating licenses in export markets (foreign sales and distribution);
4. Key legal tenets of international co-production;
5. Managing IP rights as back-catalogue (distribution assets and IP management). |
