The WIPO Strategic Goal VI-driven objectives of the proposed workshop are:
to discuss the scope and impact of counterfeiting and piracy in the region;
to examine evidentiary and procedural requirements in civil proceedings; interim measures; the environmentally-sensitive disposal of infringing goods;
to discuss the policy basis for criminal sanctions
and proportionality in sentencing;
to review topical issues; case-law developments, including online IP infringements;
to exchange experience and information, including perspectives from Japan; and
to emphasize the need for public awareness. |
