To formulate a new IPR Strategic Plan for ASEAN for the period from 2016 to 2025 that is:
- Aligned with, and complementary to, the vision and goals under the ASEAN Economic Community 2025;
- Designed not only to address the common IP priorities and needs of the ASEAN region but also to be consistent with the national IP policies and strategies of individual ASEAN countries; and,
- Responsive to the varying levels of IP development among the ASEAN countries.
(1) Country visits to selected four ASEAN countries
One of the experts, Ms. Liew Woon Yin, needs to meet and discuss with the national authorities concerned and relevant stakeholder groups in relation to the development of the IPR Strategic Plan. The country visits are tentatively proposed to be arranged as follows (based on informal consultation with the countries concerned and the expert):
- September 1–2, 2014, to Manila, Philippines;
- September 4–5, 2014, to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia;
- September 11–12, 2014, to Jakarta, Indonesia; and
- September 22–23, 2014, to Hanoi, Viet Nam; |
