It is proposed to organize the brainstorming workshop in Seoul, Republic of Korea, from October 27 to 29, 2014, with the objective of developing the first version of the ASEAN IPR Strategic Plan. The two experts will prepare a Discussion Paper on the IPR Strategic Plan (containing a basic structure and draft elements of the Plan) prior to the workshop and it would be used as the basis for discussion and work at the brainstorming workshop. Ten focal points from each ASEAN country will participate and work as a group in developing the draft.
The workshop will be organized by WIPO at a suitable hotel in Seoul, Republic of Korea. The cost items are: (i) DSA of the two experts and me; (ii) contribution towards conference facilities up to a maximum amount of CHF3,000; and
(iii) travel, DSA and TE for 10 participants from each ASEAN country.
NB: The two experts (Ms. Liew Woon Yin and Mr. Mart Leesti) and I will already be in Daejeon, Republic of Korea, for the Regional Workshop on IP as a Policy Tool for Development from October 21 to 23, 2014 (memo approved and the costs of travel are already covered under that memo). Hence, holding the brainstorming workshop back-to-back with the said Regional Workshop is to be cost-effective and practical. |
