With reference to the approved Work Plan of Funds in Trust (FIT)/Japan Industrial Property (IP) for the fiscal year 2014-2015 (copy attached) which states that the Trust Funds will provide financial support to three workshops on the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Centralized Access to Search and Examination (CASE), the proposed Seminar on the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) CASE Utilization is, as planned, the second one in the series. The proposed Seminar is composed of three activities, namely WIPO CASE Utilization Workshop, ASEAN Patent Examination Co-operation (ASPEC) Task Force Meeting and the Community of Practice (CoP) Meeting for patent examiners. This week-long program was supported by the 45th Association of South East Asian Nations Working Group on Intellectual Property Cooperation (AWGIPC) meeting that was held from November 17 to 20, 2014, in Manila, Philippines. The Seminar will be organized by WIPO in cooperation with the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) and with the assistance of the Japan Patent Office (JPO). The event will take place at the WIPO Singapore Office (WSO) and utilize its training facilities. |
