PCT ICD has organized a Sub-Regional Workshop on the PCT system and the ePCT for the benefit of particular member States of the ASEAN group in March 2015 under the Australian Funds-in-Trust 2014-2015 Work Program. The workshop was targeted at working level officials to enhance the capacity of these coutries’ IP Offices. In the workshop, further training events were requested.
As a followup of above mentioned workshop and following consultation with the WIPO Japan Office (WJO), it has been agreed that a Sub-Regional Workshop on the PCT system and ePCT will be organized in Tokyo, from October 21 to 22, 2015. This Sub Regional Workshop will target the participation of one senior official from each IP Office, with a view to having a managerial level involovement, from each of the following countries : Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam.
The Sub Regional Workshop will allow for information sharing on the ongoing PCT IT infrastructural improvements and is aimed at developing National IP Office PCT IT action plans through the review of the options available to each IP Office and by illustrating the importance of the use of updated IT facilities, including ePCT and eSearchCopy, by National IP Offices. |
