at the request of Member States, WIPO committed to undertake regional consultations on the TAG of Excellence project and on the TAG Compendium of Good Practices Concerning the Collective Management of Copyright and Related Rights. On the basis of discussions between the Government of Poland and WIPO representatives on the sidelines of the thirty first SCCR, it was agreed that Poland would host a regional consultation on TAG for the Central European and Baltic States (CEBS) allowing member states in that region to give their input into the project.
Reference is made to the letter from Mr. Wyrobiec, Undersecretary, Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (attached), to the Director General, transmitted via e-mail, dated October 28, 2015. The government of Poland is requesting WIPO to support the organization of a Regional Conference on Extended Collective Licensing (ECL) to address the challenges to the governance for collective management organizations. |
