Título: Study visit of officials from the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia (SAKPATENTI) to the Estonian Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Centre
Descripción: In his letter of January 15, 2016 (Ref. No. 01-07/151) (copy attached), Mr. Nikoloz Gogilidze, Chariman, National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia (SAKPATENTI), requested WIPO to organize a study visit to the Estonian Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Centre (EIPTTC) with the aim to familiarize participants with Estonia’s system for the promotion of innovation, to take place in Tallinn, from May 3 to 6, 2016.
EIPTTC was founded by the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications. The Centre offers a wide variety of intellectual property and technology transfer support services, training and education.
Following the request, it was agreed that the EIPTTC `s experience would be valuable and contributory to SAKPATENTI’s current efforts to lead the work on development of the National IP Strategy and to define initiatives and activities that facilitate or stimulate access to knowledge and technology transfer (TT). It is expected that the visit will enable the participating officials to initiate and shape discussions on future policies on technology transfer in Georgia.
Meetings and discussions with other TT institutions will be arranged on the sideline, as per the draft program (also attached) prepared by SAKPATENTI, in cooperation with their partners in Estonia.
