The General Partners’ Meeting (GPM) of the Research4Life (R4L) partnership programs (HINARI, AGORA, OARE and ARDI) and partner publishers will take place on July 12, 2017 in Oxford, UK. WIPO’s ARDI program provides input not only during the GPM, but also to the following meetings and work groups which will meet on July 13 to 14, 2017: R4L Executive Council, Communications & Marketing, Training, Alliances and Fund Raising. It is also an important opportunity to continue to network and to lobby publishers for additional publications to be added to ARDI.
In addition, this year’s GPM is being held back-to-back with the Publishers for Development (PfD) Conference on July 11, 2017, which is a joint initiative between the International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publications (INASP) and the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU). PfD negotiates low cost access to and training on online resources for developing and least developed countries through publisher and institution consortia. It is a complementary program to that of Research4Life with increasingly closer cooperation between the two programs. This would be the first time WIPO participates in a PfD Conference and would allow us to review and evaluate PfD’s approach. |
