The objectives of the missions are to hold consultation meetings with the senior management, relevant officials and examiners from the Department of Patents, Designs and Trademarks (DPDT) to: (i) review the mandate, legal and institutional framework for administration of IP rights in comparison with best practices at the international level; (ii) discuss a range of options for optimal institutional, legal and management framework; (iii) gather information on DPDT’s existing human resources, infrastructure, operating systems and financial management regime; and (iv) share the initial findings with the senior management of DPDT and explore the possible subsequent steps. |
